The Stats of the Discovery Operations Bundle!

Everything Old is New Again, and that’s certainly the case for starships. The Age of Discovery Operations Pack, out soon, features exciting new starships based on 23rd century designs, but brought up to speed on modern combat capabilities.

Federation-aligned captains will gain access to the following starships:

  • Shran Light Pilot Escort [T6]
  • Gagarin Miracle Worker Battlecruiser [T6]
  • Walker-class Prototype Light Exploration Cruiser

Klingon-aligned officers will be able to obtain:

  • M'Chla Pilot Bird of Prey [T6]
  • Qugh Miracle Worker Battlecruiser [T6]

 

This ships in this bundle continue the recent experimentation into scaling starships that can be used as soon as you complete the tutorial!* We hope you share in our excitement as we continue exploring the concept of scaling starships, and see how this may shape the way you fly ships in the future of Star Trek Online at all levels.

 

* Romulans must have chosen a faction to fly these starships.

If commissioned at low level, some of these ships’ capabilities will be restricted temporarily, but will quickly and automatically unlock as you increase your Captain’s level. At each Tier, these ships remain strong competitors to other ships of the same tier (and outdoing them in many ways!), and keep getting better as you continue to play Star Trek Online. The table below shows you the progression of Hull Strength, Weapon slots, and Console slots you will experience as you level up.

 

Walker-Class Prototype Light Exploration Cruiser

Unique to this bundle is a new visual ship variant for the Walker-class Prototype Light Exploration Cruiser. Named the Georgiou-class, this variant is a new design inspired by the U.S.S. Excelsior from Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. This new skin marries the classic Star Trek look of the original films with the dynamic aesthetic of Star Trek: Discovery. Once you buy the bundle, you can use this visual variant on any version of the Walker-class Exploration Cruiser you own. Simply visit the starship customizer and select the parts labeled “Georgiou.”

The Shran and M’Chla share a Universal Console, Starship Trait, and Experimental Weapon, and the Gagarin and Qugh share a Universal Console and Starship Trait. Note that although Starship Mastery may be earned immediately, unlocking the Starship Trait does not permit its use until at least level 50.

Shran Light Pilot Escort [T6]

Like its predecessor, the Shran-class of Light Escorts began as a concept from a team of engineers trying to meet a variety of common wartime requests - a starship that didn't require too many resources to build or fly, one that packed a serious punch, and one that had the flexibility to adapt to the design at hand. Due a combination of the prototypes found at Yard 39 and convergent design, that concept ended up becoming a direct successor to the Magee, but one built up to modern standards and with the ability to realize what were just dreams of some of the Magee's original engineers.

M'Chla Pilot Bird of Prey [T6]

Some concepts are timeless, and the Birds of Prey are such concept. The core is elegant in its simplicity - a ship that can appear anywhere, accomplish its goal, and quickly vanish. This trends it towards many of the same directions - a lightweight, highly mobile ship with heavy guns and powerful stealth systems, and a need for flexibility to adapt to the specific missions at hand. The M'Chla Pilot Bird of Prey is no different in its goals than the 23rd century Bird of Prey design that had that inspired it, but is all the more fearsome with all the improvements that time and alliances have brought it.

Console – Universal – Graviton Displacer

When activated, this console distorts local gravitational forces to create a localized highly intense gravimetric distortion shortly in front of your starship. This distortion will pull any nearby foes towards it, dealing mild kinetic damage, and affected foes will initially lose sensor lock on your vessel due to the massive distortions. To prevent excessive stresses on your starship while this is active, your maximum speed and turn rate will be limited for the duration of this effect.

This console also provides a passive boost to Starship Hull Penetration and Starship Tactical Readiness. This console may be equipped on any console slot, on any starship. You may only equip one of these consoles.

Starship Trait - Strike from Shadows

While this trait is slotted, attacking a foe that does not have you targeted will placate them for a short duration, and you will gain a significant boost to Weapon Damage and Critical Hit Chance, in addition to a decrease to your outgoing threat generation. Additional attacks on any foe who does not have you targeted will refresh the duration of these buffs. You cannot placate the same enemy more than once per 60 seconds this way.

Experimental Weapon – Hypercharged Field Projector

This unique Experimental Weapon rapidly generates electrical fields that arc out to the nearest target, dealing electrical damage directly to their hull. Due to the inherent nature of electrical fields, this attack is nearly impossible to avoid, but it rapidly loses damage over range.

Gagarin Miracle Worker Battlecruiser [T6]

The Gagarin Miracle Worker Battlecruiser is a powerful Federation Battlecruiser, using the latest innovations and technology to make dream goals of the past reality today. It draws inspiration from many of the experiments attempted by the Shepard-class Battlecruisers of the 23rd century. Advancements and coordination with Starfleet's allies have been able to make unique, energy-intensive systems work, and the ship was designed to give it the potential for such miraculous systems in the future, notably some very unique EPS conduit routing and new advanced Tactical Matrices.

Qugh Miracle Worker Battlecruiser [T6]

The Qugh Miracle Worker Battlecruiser is a monster of a ship, using its daunting combination of tactical superiority and resilience to dominate any field it takes to. Its innovative hull structure allows for some designs not possible with more traditional layouts, and the internals have been entirely refit from the 23rd century hull it was based on. The additional EPS conduits and data cable flows present in its layout, while originally built as additional backups, sparked creativity in many of the engineers working on designs for its refit. These inspirations have been shared with the Klingon Empire's allies, and have grown into what makes this ship the presence it is today.

Console – Universal – Refracting Energy Shunt

When activated, this console fires a burst of pure protonic energy directly from your ship's EPS conduits through the deflector dish towards your target. The protonic energy will course through the target, searing EPS conduits, before exiting towards other nearby starships, which the energy will continue to devastate.

This console also provides a passive boost to Starship Power Transfer Rate and Starship Engineering Readiness. This console may be equipped on any console slot, on any starship. You may only equip one of these consoles.

Entwined Tactical Matrices

While this trait is slotted, activating Beams: Fire at Will or Cannons: Scatter Volley causes your next torpedo attack to be a Torpedo Spread. Activating Torpedo Spread causes you to gain Beams: Fire at Will and Cannons: Scatter Volley for a short duration.
